Bandipur – Tiger reserve…
In 1973 Bandipur turned into a tiger reserve, it is a beautiful forest with three rivers running with variety of wildlife. Bandipur’s jungle safari is one of the major attractions across Karnataka, as per Travelife's schedule the safari started at 4 in the evening. As per our prior experiences, safari was great and exciting always so we were all set for the adventure coming our way. We were 7 of us in the vehicle, all these vehicles are equipped with walky-talkies and guides/drivers. They always lead us were the major spotting of animals was available, makes it easier for us to not miss any of the sightings.
Bandipur National Park is surrounded intermediate sized hills with moderate slopes and petty, profoundly singnificant flora and fauna. Teak, Honne, Tadasalu, Mathi, Nandi, Sandalwood, Rosewood, Kooli, Nelli, are the main portion of the variety we saw.
Animal species in the park are Tigers, Leopards, Elephants, Gaurs, Sambar, Sloth bear, Wild dog, Langur, Giant red squirrel, 4 horned antelope, porcupines, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Rusty spotted cat, Giant fruit bats. Fortunate enough we could sight most of them but not lucky to capture them in our cameras. Safaris has always been a very good experience in Bandipur the tourists are majorly attracted here because of the wildlife, flora and fauna. It’s a perfect place for the wildlife photographers.
Returning back from the safari was almost twilight, reached the place Travelife booked to stay over night. Had good food at the bonfire and played antakshari , enjoyed the Bandipur safari all in all.
