Eravikulam National Park



Stretched along the crest of the Western Ghats in the high ranges of Idukki district of Kerala is Eravikulam National Park. The place is particularly acknowledged for supporting great residents of the Nilgiri tahr, a mountain goat seen in parts of South India. It is also known for its majority of population of tahr across the globe.

The National Park has a large variety of flora and fauna with over 26 species of mammals, 132 bird species few butterflies and amphibians. Park shelters Elephants, Sambar’s, Gaurs, Atlas Moths, Lion tailed Macaque, Nilgiri, Langur, Tigers and leopards apart from the Nilgiri tahr.

Its located very close to the famous Tea town of Munnar which is the major attraction of Kerala. The park is open throughout the year except from January to March. The best suggested time to visit the park is during the months of September and October as its completely covered with greenery considered as the best time to spot animals.
