Great Himalayan National Park



Great Himalayan National Park is placed in the high ranges of Himalayas. GHNP is recently added to list of National parks of India, located in kullu region in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It’s believed to be hemmed in on three sides by the gigantic peaks of the Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh’s GHNP certainly the place to go for a rendezvous with the natural world of these mountains.
The National Park has good wildlife population, especially of avifauna. Park comprises of Himalayan Tahr and apart from this the majority of wildlife is Snow leopard, musk deer, blue sheep, wolf, ibex, leopard, Rhesus macaque, common langur, muntjac, serow, Himalayan Black Bear and goral. The park vegetation is a diverse mix of ban oak forest, moist deodar forest and few more.
Ahead of November, and right up to April, heavy snowfall can obstruct roads and trails, in addition making it a little too chilly for comfort. Rainfall hits the park flanked by July and September, sometimes resulting in landslides and muddy trails. Accessibility is not so easy. Nearest airport to GHNP is Bhuntar near kullu at around 60 kms. Dachigam National Park



Dachigam National Park is to be found among the lofty mountains of powerful western Himalayas, 22kms from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The name Dachigam stands for “10 villages” which was named after these villages were relocated for the creation of this national park. This national park is the home for endangered Hangul species of the deer in the country.

The fauna in Dachigam primarily comprises of hangul or Kashmir stag, the most endangered species of red deer in the world. Part from this there are musk deer, leopards, Himalayan brown bear, jackals, yellow-throated martens, hill fox, Himalayan gray langurs, long tailed marmots, jungle cats, Himalayan black bear and Himalayan weasel. The avifauna includes Himalayan monals, cinnamon sparrow, black bulbuls, woodpeckers, minivets, pygmy owlets, black and yellow grosbeaks, Himalayan griffons, redstarts, bearded vultures, red billed blue magpies and so on. The park cannot be accessed that easily as there is strenuous treks in the park area.

Areas of interests near Dachigam is the Srinagar, Jammu city which is the most picturesque beauty in the world. Viashno devi an important pilgrimage foe hindus and patnitop a scenic hill resort. Leh ladakh is completely mind-boggling and astonishing. The nearest town and airport is Srinagar 22kms away, nearest railway station is Jammu about 310kms. All this is well linked through roads.

Bandhavgarh National Park



The name Bandhavgarh is derived from an ancient fort located in this area and this park belongs to the Vindhyan Mountain ranges of central India and it boasts to have highest density of tiger population in the country.

Bandhavgarh has also been known as former hunting preserve of the Maharaja of Rewa and it’s currently known as a house for White Tigers. Bandhavgarh National Park as an un-spoilt natural habitation is an array of flora and fauna peculiar to the area. These embrace gaur (Indian bison), sloth bear, leopard, porcupine, wild boar, sambhar and spotted deer, among others and certainly, the tiger. Kanha National Park



Kanha National Park is one of the india’s finest tiger reserves. Kanha national park is more famous for its wildlife, the natural beauty of its landscape and it’s known to be in shape of horse shoe valley. This park bounds by the spurs of the mekal range and also it presents a varied topography. It’s is considered as the most spectacular protected wildlife reserves of the world.

Sanjay Gandhi National Park



Sanjay Gandhi National Park is lies within the border of the Mumbai city, prior to this it was known as Borivali National Park. This is park is popularly known for its uniqueness and it cover almost 104 sq kms. It brings a large amount of revenue and is famous as Asia’s most visited National Parks, the survey says its about 2 million annual visitors. Another major attraction here is the 2400 years old Kanheri caves which purely sculpted with the rocks is also a part of the park.

The park makes a home for several endangered species of flora and fauna. The survey shows the count of 40 species of mammals, 38 species of reptiles, 9 species of amphibians, 251 species of migratory, land and water birds. Pench National Park



Located in southern Madhya Pradesh is Pench National Park, spread across about 275 sq kms which is in Madhya Pradesh and about 10% is in Maharashtra. It is 80 kms from Nagpur and 190 kms from Jabalpur end. Its uniqueness is that is in the AVSM (Aravali, Vindhyanchal, Satpura and Maikal Ranges) belt, this teak forest is a different and a pleasant surprise to the normal and scenic parks of Kanha and Bandhavgarh.

The forest area is a combination of dry deciduous forest and tropical moist deciduous forest, and is rich with striking shrubs. Teak, Mahua, Tendu, Bija, Amaltas and Palas all find their home here. Pench’s gorgeous landscape is home to a number of endangered species. Twenty-five glorious tigers share the prey animals with the leopard, wolf, jungle cat, dhol (Indian wild dog), hyena and jackal. Three hundred fascinating and beautiful species fill the skies with their calls. Ranthambore National Park



Sawai Madhopur district in Eastern part of Rajasthan is where Ranthambore National Park. This has been a hunting conserve of the Maharajas of Jaipur and it became a National Park in 1980. Few years later the adjoining forests were declared as the Sewai Man Singh Sactuary and Keladevi Sanctuary and were also called as Tiger Reserve.

Ranthambore forms a conversion between the true desert and seasonally wet peninsular India. The flora mainly belong to dry deciduous type, lot of activities are carried out at the park which definitely includes special tiger tours, bird watching tours. The forest is highly influenced by the Asiatic tiger, is also the abode for various other species of mammals, reptiles and birds. They include jungle cats, jackals, sloth bears, sambar deers, chitals, and striped hyenas.
