Bandhavgarh National Park



The name Bandhavgarh is derived from an ancient fort located in this area and this park belongs to the Vindhyan Mountain ranges of central India and it boasts to have highest density of tiger population in the country.

Bandhavgarh has also been known as former hunting preserve of the Maharaja of Rewa and it’s currently known as a house for White Tigers. Bandhavgarh National Park as an un-spoilt natural habitation is an array of flora and fauna peculiar to the area. These embrace gaur (Indian bison), sloth bear, leopard, porcupine, wild boar, sambhar and spotted deer, among others and certainly, the tiger. The amazing flora consists mainly of sal trees and later it’s a mix of vegetation like saj, Sali, saja, dhobin etc whereas the northern part of the park is vast stretches of grasslands and bamboo forests. Bandhavgarh definitely is known for its excellent tree and foliage concentration.

Two kinds of safaris are made available to the people interested in exploring the wildlife. Jeep Safari and Elephant Safari are undertaken during the early morning hours till evening. To sight a tiger, Elephant safaris are the best way Nature enthusiasts can do it. The places one can visit in and around Bandhavgarh are Katani and Umaria two important destinations.
