Mullayangiri is a small Hillock in the temple compound, it is the highest peak point in Karnataka. There is a small temple (matta) on top of the hill. Its around 250 kms form Banagalore and 12 kms away from Chickamalgur.
It stands at 1930 meters and is the tallest peak in Karnataka. Mullayangiri is part of the the Baba Budan Giri Hill Ranges. Trekking through the beutiful Mullayangiri is the best experience. From the base, a place called Sarpadhari (snake path), the climb to Mullayangiri is quite steep.
Baba Budan Giri its name from the Muslim Saint, Baba Budan. He resided here for more than 150 years and reared coffee from the seeds he had secured form yemen. It is situated 30 kms away from Chickmaglur and it is 1895 meters high.
The skies are a vibrant shade of blue and the scenery and view is captivating. Being a part of this Hillock and trekking all along is an enchanting experience in itself.
