Idukki National Park



Idukki National Park is located in the forest land between the Cheruthoni river and the Periyar river. It is spread over an area of about 77 sq km in idukki district with a attractive lake around the National Park, bounded by a attractive cover of tropical evergreen and deciduous forests.

Idukki National Park is one of Kerala’s finest haven’s for wildlife and is home to vast herds of Elephants, bisons, bear, wild boars, sambar wild dogs, jungle cats, tiger, wild boars. This park is comprises of various species of snakes including cobra, viper and many non poisonous ones. The bird life in the sanctuary is equally impressive there are few birds like myna, jungle fowl, black bulbul, laughing thrush, woodpecker, peafowl, kingfisher etc. Jungle safaris are easily made available for the tourists.
